The building where the headquarters of the Union of Parishes of Águeda and Borralha is located is located at Largo Dr. António Homem de Mello, in Águeda. This building became the property of the parish through the testament of Joaquim Ferreira dos Santos, "O Conde Ferreira". Joaquim Ferreira dos Santos was born in Vila Meã, now Azevedo, in Campanhã, on the outskirts of Porto. Count Ferreira was one of the great drivers of public education in Portugal. He left a legacy for the construction and furniture of 120 primary schools of both sexes in lands that were heads of councils, all with the same plant and with housing for the teacher, and after being finished delivered to the respective parish councils. "Convinced that public education is an essential element for the good of the Society, I want my executors to have one hundred and twenty houses built and furnished for primary schools of both sexes on the lands that are heads of the municipality, all being from the same plant. and with accommodation for the teacher's home, not exceeding the cost of each house and furniture the amount of 1200 kings and ready that each house is ready, they will not have more than two houses built in each municipality head and will prefer those lands that they want ". After being the Primary School of Adro, from 1994 to 1997 it became the headquarters of the Águeda Parish Council.
