Águeda Typical Orchestra

The Águeda Typical Orchestra (OTA), is a non-profit association, with public utility status since 1993, founded in 1971, and its main objectives are the collection, dissemination and preservation of traditional Portuguese music, with a special focus on the Region where is inserted. Nowadays he keeps on touring several shows and artistic projects, standing out in addition to his Typical Orchestra, "Na Rota dos Ventos", "João's bride - The musical", "Sons do Botaréu", "Imaginar" and "do pé pra pra" hand". His repertoire is based on the music of oral transmission collected in the Municipality of Águeda with a show that since 1971 has toured the country on a lés-a-lés basis. In 2006, with the launch of his latest record work "Na Rota dos Ventos", he promoted the itinerancy of a show with the same name in partnership with several ethnographic groups in the Aveiro Region in an initiative integrated in the PAPERA Program of CIRA - Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Aveiro.
