Founded on May 28, 2014. A group of parents and coaches of the Águeda swimming athletes, with the support of the until then responsible for the Sport Algés de Águeda club, met and fulfilled what their desire had been for some time: "to present a new direction committed to take the effort and dedication of our athletes further". According to the founders of the new club, "without wishing to forget all the work and merit won by former athletes, the new Clube Sport Algés e Águeda XXI is the renovation of the hitherto Sport Algés e Águeda, once a renowned club and glory".
